Steps to create Hard Disk Partitions ::- Click start.
- Search for Disk management. You will see a application named "Create and format hard disk partitions.
- Open the application. You will get a window like this named DISK MANAGEMENT :
- Select the drive which you want to partition.
- Right click on the drive and you will get a menu like this :
- select the "Shrink Volume..." option. then you will get a new window :
- Enter the size of your drive which you want to be created in MB. (You may use calculator 1GB = 1024 MB)
- Then you will see a new drive labelled as Unallocated.
- Right click on the new Unallocated drive. Then click on New Simple Volume.
- Follow the steps then click Finish.
- You will see a new drive. You can then use it.
Steps to delete a partition ::
- Open Disk Management. Right click on the partition you want to delete.
- Then select "Delete Volume..." option. Then continue or back up any data on the drive.
- After the above step, you will see that drive marked as "Unallocated".
- Choose the drive in which you want to combine it.
- Right click on it and you will see a "Extend Volume..." option. Select that and choose the unallocated drive.
- Click continue and you will see that the unallocated drive has disappeared and then other drive has got it's memory.
Now you can Create or delete any partitions without format !!!
